FORT WORTH, Texas (August 24, 2023) – On August 4, 2023, the Raynor Cerebellum Project (RCP) announced the appointment of three leading Neuroscientists to the RCP Interim Governing Board. In addition to the Governing Board, the RCP leadership team receives as-needed scientific support from the RCP Advisory Board, and administrative support from the Once Upon a Time Foundation.
The Governing Board role, held by Adam Hantman, Ph.D., Stephen G. Lisberger, Ph.D., and Roy Sillitoe, Ph.D., is a highly compensated position, with specific time commitments and significant responsibilities. Governing Board Members spend 20% of their time devoted to the development, growth, and expansion of the RCP’s initiatives. Collectively, the three Governing Board members’ efforts fulfill the role of the RCP Executive Director.
The RCP Advisory Board consists of Peter Tsai, M.D., Ph.D., and Vikram Shakkottai, M.D., Ph.D., of UT Southwestern Medical Center. The Advisory Board role is an unpaid, scientific advisory position. Members of the Advisory Board are consulted by the Governing Board and Once Upon a Time teams on an as-needed basis.
Lastly, Bethany Cale serves as the Director of Grant Operations for the Once Upon a Time Foundation, the parent entity of the RCP. Once Upon a Time has allocated $30 million to the RCP to date, in addition to $14 million already funded to launch the Raynor Cerebellum Lab at UT Southwestern. Once Upon a Time provides continual administrative and financial support for RCP initiatives.
Together, under the leadership of the Governing Board, the RCP hopes to see over $100 million directed toward its transformational goal of improving the lives of those with cerebellar disease in as short a time as possible.
