Dysfunction of the small yet intricate brain region is tied to neurodevelopmental conditions like autism
UT Southwestern plans to launch a massive project researching the region of the brain linked to coordination, speech and many neurodevelopmental disorders like autism using a $25 million gift from Fort Worth’s Once Upon a Time Foundation.
The gift will establish the Raynor Cerebellum Project, named after Once Upon a Time Foundation founder Geoffrey Raynor, to accelerate understanding of the cerebellum and develop treatments for disorders connected to the region, which is located at the back of the brain near the brain stem.
